INNOCENCE WARLU
Translation: Soul Fire
Photograph by Russell James. Collaborative art by Clifton Bieundurry (AUS).
4’6” x 4’6” archival inkjet on canvas with acrylic and ochre applications.
The painted symbols represent fire places or meeting points of tribes and families. The soul can journey from fire to fire whilst it is searching for its rightful place or physical being. The fires are symbols of traditional ceremonies to recognise new life, tribal initiations, death and funerals.
